Dallas Christian College will send a team to the roof of the world in May 2016! A dozen students, staff, and guests will travel to three cities in Nepal where they will lead Nepali young adults at various discipleship conferences. After each daylong conference, the team will join the Nepali believers in public spaces to engage their communities with Christ through evangelism. The goal is to assist in kindling lasting relationships between unbelievers and our Nepali brothers and sisters. In addition to this church planting strategy, our team will have many other opportunities to encounter God’s Kingdom growing in Nepal. The team will visit organizations that rescue and rehabilitate those caught in human trafficking. They will also sit with “untouchables” in a modern day leper colony outside Kathmandu and providing new shoes and clothing to orphans operated by our ministry connection in the region.
While Nepal is still reeling from the tragic 2015 earthquake that claimed over 9,000 lives, our team comes with a powerful message of life. While Hinduism is the primary religion in the country (around 85%), Nepal is home to every major faith. Together with some Nepali believers, our students will encounter Hindus, Buddhists, Muslims, and Jews with the good news of Jesus Christ. In addition to radically changing the lives of those we meet in Nepal, we know that God desires to reshape us through this experience. May His kingdom come, and His will be done in Nepal, and in us, just as it is done in heaven!
