My dad, Carl Burns, served in the United States Air Force as an Airman Second Class from 1955-1959. During his service, he was trained in telecommuncations. After completing the training, the Air Force sent him to Japan to decode war messages at the tail end of the Korean War. He served in Japan for two years until he was honorably discharged. His loyalty and devotion to our country has been demonstrated to our family all my life. My brother served in the Marine Corps and then served as a fireman for 24 years. My sister is a nurse at a VA hospital in MO. We are a service oriented family due to my dad’s example of service for our country.
