CAMPS OVERVIEW

CRISTA Camps provide memorable camp experiences on the beautiful Olympic Peninsula where people encounter Christ and servant leaders are developed. Staff and interns at our award-winning camp communicate Christian values as they lead activities, participate in programmed events, and serve guest groups. Some of the activities the kids have the opportunity to participate in are as follows: Archery, swimming, canoeing, rock walls, horseback trail riding and much more! Miracle Ranch has the opportunity to serve thousands of kids and adults every summer.

CRISTA Camps is on the search for young adults who love Jesus Christ and who are interested in having an amazing summer of growth, service and fun. These young adults will have a life changing experience working at CRISTA Camps! They will grow spiritually, personally, relationally and professionally throughout the summer! Servant leadership development will transfer over to future opportunities and life experiences no matter what field they are pursuing!

POSITION SUMMARY

Summer staff members are responsible for the wellbeing of student campers who attend Miracle Ranch. Program and recreational staff are key players in both the fun and efficiency of camp. From facilitating activities, to leading worship at Fireside, the Recreation and Program team is a diverse collection of Summer Staff with many talents and a shared goal to help camp run. Program and recreational staff provide servant leadership, relationships, and teamwork so each camper and guest can experience an unforgettable time and walk away changed. Counselors embody CRISTA’s mission of “Serving the needs of the World with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.” Program and Recreation Staff members may have an area they facilitate more frequently, but may be asked to serve in other areas as needed.

DUTIES

Recreation Activities: Facilitate programmed events and activities, including but not limited to paintball, ropes course, archery, waterfront, rock wall, horseback riding, and outdoor education.
Safety: Maintain responsibility, awareness and adherence of safety standards.
Camper Care: Maintain responsibility for physical, emotional, and spiritual care of campers during camper interactions.
Program: Assist in program areas as needed, such as games, skits, or counseling.
Guest Service: Assist with meal crews, housekeeping, and other guest service needs throughout the week.
Community: contribute to and participate in the Summer Staff community.
Work collaboratively with supervisor, coworkers and campers.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Personal conduct that reflects well on CRISTA Ministries and supports our personal conduct policy

Perform all duties consistent with the CRISTA Ministries Mission Statement

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

1. CHRIST CENTERED
Profession that Jesus Christ is Lord and Savior.
Ongoing affirmation, alignment with and support of CRISTA’s Statement of Faith and Christian Community Representative Statement (CCC).
Demonstrates the values of a CRISTA leader.

2. EDUCATION
High School diploma or GED required.

3. OTHER CONSIDERATIONS
Excellent customer service.
Able to communicate clearly to others.
Able to work collaboratively with all Camps staff and customers.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS: LICENSURE / CERTIFICATION (Not Required to Apply)

Lifeguard Certification (we will provide an opportunity for certification during training week)
CPR Certification  (we will provide an opportunity for certification during training week)
