COMMENCEMENT 2020
DCC held our Commencement at Compass Christian Church in Colleyville, TX on Saturday morning, August 8, at 11:00am. James Hutchins, lead pastor of New Life Community Church in Frisco, TX, delivered the Commencement address. It was a powerful message on having a “high want to” attitude for Christ and life. The Commencement can be viewed at dallas.edu. Of the 40 graduation candidates for the class of 2020:
- 15 are women, 25 are men, 23 are traditional, and 17 are non-traditional from the FLEXCampus®
- The average cumulative GPA of this class is 2.95 and 15% are graduating with honors.
- The average age of this class is 28.
- They came to Dallas Christian College from Texas, Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Iowa, Maryland, Wyoming, Mexico, Congo, Nigeria, and Myanmar.
- 63% of this class will serve in local church, para-church ministries, or intercultural ministries.
- 19% will provide Christian leadership in local businesses.
- 13% will be teachers.
- 50% plan to further their education through graduate school.
- 56% are minority graduates:
- 44% are Caucasian
- 33% are African-American
- 21% are Hispanic
- 2% are Asian
