FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: January 5, 2015

DALLAS, Texas– Dallas Christian College faculty and staff were notified early in January of an article published online at USA Today, which named DCC as one of the 15 least expensive colleges to earn a degree, #9 to be exact. President Brian Smith was pleased to see the College was included in the list, but added “it is no surprise to see DCC on this list of least expensive colleges to earn a degree. The DCC administration works very hard to provide the high quality DCC education and experience to all students, regardless of their socio-economic status. Our strategic plan calls for a financial model that provides broad access to a DCC education, even for those who can least afford it.” This echoed themes from Dr. Smith’s inaugural address on January 24th at The Branch Church in Farmers Branch, Texas.

“The incredible thing is how we are able to provide so many services to students, including a comprehensive mentoring program, and yet still maintain relatively low tuition costs,’ said Perry Stepp, Vice President for Academic Affairs. “We know that many of these students in our classrooms will soon be serving on the mission field, or perhaps working in non-profits, and other areas advancing the Kingdom. We believe it’s our responsibility to provide the DCC experience at the lowest possible cost to the student.”

This year, DCC brought in one of the largest traditional incoming classes in its sixty-five year history, and over 90% received some form of institutional scholarship or grant. Many of these scholarships were made possible through the contributions of donors who have a heart for God’s Kingdom and believe in the mission of Dallas Christian College. Mark Worley, Vice President for Advancement added, “Initiatives like the newly established Living Stones Scholarship Fund enable the College to give an increasing amount of financial assistance to incoming students. In order to continue to make this possible, and to keep tuition costs low for the student, we rely on the financial support of those who love the College and who want to invest in the lives of current and future DCC students. This lets us maintain a financial structure that gives everyone a chance to be, as our mission states, “educated and mentored to be people of influence, under God’s influence, for a life of influence.”
