Moore, OK – The Dallas Christian Crusaders and the Hillsdale Freewill Baptist Saints have had some epic battles over the last few years.
This was another one of them. In a game where that featured multiple lead changes and runs by both teams, the home standing Saints were the proverbial ‘Last Man Standing’. The Crusaders shot slightly better from the field but the difference in this contest was the 49 free throws attempted by the Saints. They hit 39 of them. The Crusaders were 11 of 27 from the Charity Stripe.
Dallas has been strong on the boards in recent games and figured it to be a strength in this one. However, the smaller Saints beat the Crusaders on the boards 50-42.
The Crusaders did do something better this game than in all previous games this year. They only committed 8 turnovers.
Aaron Espinosa and Trent Dawson led the Dallas offense with 15 points apiece. Jonathan Davaughn followed with 14 points while connecting on 4 of 5 3pt shots.
Dallas misfired on 21 shots in the paint! They simply could not finish close-in shots when the opportunities were there to seize control of this one.
