DCC Crusaders survives University of Dallas rally, escapes with 6-5 victory 3-28-13

University of Dallas was unable to fight back from the big hole it dug itself into against DCC Crusaders, and University of Dallas lost 6-5 to DCC Crusaders after falling behind by six runs in the third inning.

University of Dallas scored on an RBI single by Alfred in the fifth inning and an RBI single by Cauda, an error, and a two-run single by Berry in the sixth inning. Still, University of Dallas couldn’t catch DCC Crusaders.

DCC Crusaders was led by Dustin Tarpley‘s hitting. Tarpley went 1-3, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the first inning.

Bryce Jones got the win for DCC Crusaders despite allowing five runs over seven innings. Jones struck out five, walked four and gave up six hits.

The lead stayed with DCC Crusaders after the first, when it scored one run on a solo home run by Tarpley.

DCC Crusaders built upon its lead with four runs in the second. The inning got off to a hot start when Taylor Peddicord singled, bringing home Caleb Gibson.
