Crusader Baseball goes 1-2 at Central Baptist College

Your Crusader Varsity Baseball Team traveled to Arkansas this past weekend to play Central Baptist College. The Crusaders came out strong in Game 1. defeating CBC 6-5. Kyle Spurgin was the starting pitcher and gave up 3 runs in 4-1/3 innings. Jacob Houpt came in in relief and gave up just 2 runs to secure the win! Contributing to the scoring were Tyler Hubbard, Justin Browning, Kale McQuillen, Jon Perea, Dustin Tarpley, Zach Diaz, and Taylor Peddicord. Bryce Jones started Game 2 and completed his third complete game of the season. He gave up 6 unearned runs and your Crusaders fell to CBC 6-2. Nick Tovar, Tyler Hubbard, Jon Perea, Kale McQuillen, and Dustin Tarpley all had hits in the effort. Justin Krie pitched well through 5 innings of Game 3, giving up just 2 earned runs. Coach Dixon went to his bullpen calling in Dylan Hussey, Ruben Salinas, and Tyler Suddeth to complete the game. CBC was able to add 9 unearned runs making the final score 13-3. Kale McMcQuillen continued is dominance at the plate tallying 4 hits in the game!

Next up…JV plays a Double Header on Wednesday 3/13 at Mountain View College. First Pitch at 3:00pm. Varsity will travel to play Oklahoma Baptist University on Friday 3/15 (5:00pm) and a Double Header on Saturday 3/16. First Pitch at 1:00pm.
