Crusaders Defeat SAGU 3-1

Dallas, TX - August 28, 2007

Congratulations to the 2007 Crusader soccer team for their 3-1 victory over Southwestern Assemblies of God University. This marks their first win against SAGU in 6 years of intense matches.

SAGU scored early and led the game for the entire first half, 0-1.

As the second half began, the intensity and focused shifted to DCC. The Crusaders started the scoring with freshman Michael Santos being tripped in the box. Tyler Singleton, another freshman, scored the penalty kick, tying the game at 1.

A little later, junior, Doby Davis assisted Michael Santos on a through ball. This put the Crusaders up by 1.

As the game neared completion, the Crusaders were looking for an opportunity to nail the door shut. They did so when, sophomore, Tyler Stowe assisted defensive junior Johnny Harvell for the 3rd and final goal of the game.
