All the degree programs of DCC meet ABHE requirements for a balanced
curriculum in Bible, general education, and specialized or professional
studies. This reflects the college’s conviction that knowledge of
the Bible is basic to education.
The college offers a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.), a Bachelor of Science (B.S.), an Associate of Arts (A.A.),
and an Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.). The Bachelor of Arts degree
differs from the Bachelor of Science degree in that the B.A. requires
12-hours of Biblical Greek. Students who intend to enter ministry, particularly
preaching or teaching, or who intend to enroll in seminary are encouraged
to pursue the B.A. degree.
The Bible Department offers the B.A. and B.S. degrees with majors in Biblical Studies, Practical Ministries and Bible, and Worship Arts and Bible. Practical Ministry majors can choose from one of three tracks: Intercultural Studies, Ministry Leadership, or Youth and Family Ministry. Worship Arts majors can choose from one of two tracks: Worship Ministry Leadership or Music Ministry Leadership. The Bible Department offers minors in Biblical Languages, Church Education Ministry, Intercultural Studies, Ministry Studies, Preaching Ministry, Urban Studies, Worship Arts, and Youth and Family Ministry.
The Arts and Sciences Department offers the A.A. and the B.S. degree, the A.A. in Humanities and the B.S. in Interdisciplinary Studies and Bible. It also offers minors in English or History. The B.S. in Interdisciplinary Studies and Bible serves as a foundational undergraduate degree preparing students for church and para-church ministries and for graduate professional studies.
The Business Administration Department offers the B.S. degree in Business and Bible. The Business major can choose from one of two tracks: Business Administration and Ethics or Nonprofit Management. The Business Administration Department also offers an A.A.S. degree in Business as well as a Business minor.
The Education Department offers the B.S. degree in Education and Bible. Within the major are three different tracks to choose from: Elementary (Early Childhood-6), Secondary (7-12), or Music (Early Childhood-12). Within the Elementary and Secondary tracks, students select a Content Area (teaching specialization) in English or history. These degrees prepare students to teach in private Christian schools with certification from the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI).
The Psychology Department offers the B.S. degree in Psychologyand Bible. The major serves as a foundational undergraduate degree preparing students for church and para-church ministries and for seminary or graduate professional studies. In addition, the Psychology Department offers a minor in Psychology.
The college also offers degrees through FLEXCampus™ (an accelerated program). FLEXCampus™ offers the flexibility of participating in the classroom, participating live via web conference, or watching the recorded class session the next day and completing the class online. Majors available through these programs includes Practical Ministries (Ministry Leadership Track) and Bible, Interdisciplinary Studies and Bible, Business and Bible, or Psychology and Bible.
