Summer Internships at Irving Bible Church

Irving Bible Church is accepting resumes for our 2008-2009 internship program. Positions are for college students who desire to serve Jesus Christ through working with children. Intern positions within children's ministry are a part of a training program that contributes to the spiritual, personal, and professional development of men and women as children's ministry leaders. Qualifications & Requirements: · A potential intern must be currently involved in professional ministry training at an academic institution. · A potential intern should have prior ministry experience. · A potential intern should be a regular attending member of Irving Bible Church or another church body. · A potential intern must have a flexible spirit to adapt to new and changing work environments. · A potential intern must be able to commit to 20 work hours per week Program Benefits: · Interns will work under the direction of a ministry mentor. · Interns will work toward the accomplishment of specific learning goals as defined by the internship program. · The intern and ministry mentor will meet, at a minimum, on a bi-weekly basis during the internship period to assess progress of goals and for mentoring. · Interns will also meet weekly with an enrichment advisor to develop spiritual, personal and professional skills needed for a career in children's ministry. · Interns will work in a variety of capacities and across all age groups of children. · Internships are established in 12 month increments: August 1- July 31. Summer Lifeguard Needed at Tanglewood Camp

Tanglewood Christian Camp, located between Rockdale and Lexington, Texas, is seeking certified lifeguards for summer camp. Lifeguards must have Red Cross first aid training. Camp starts on June 8 and ends July 18. There is a week during that time that there are partial week camps. The camp provides a place to stay and 3 meals a day and a snack at night for the staff. Lifeguards may also possibly help in the kitchen to prepare for meals and serve the meals with the cook and other help. Pay is $200 a week. P/T Youth Minister Needed in Quinlin

Lakeview Church in Quinlin is looking for a part-time youth minister. They have about a hundred members and a traditional-style worship service. The pay is $10-12 per hour for 24 hours of work per week. The youth minister would be allowed to stay in the parsonage for free, which is located on the lake. A male youth minister is preferred. The Arc of Dallas is Seeking a Summer Intern Program Coordinator

The Arc LIFE Program works with adults with intellectual and related developmental disabilities reach their full potential by providing day and evening classes and activities that help promote and enhance a positive quality of life. More information is available at http://www.arcdallas.org/adult.htm. Duties of the intern include but are not limited to the following and can be tailored to the intern's goals and objectives. Other internships are also available at http://www.arcdallas.org/emp_oop.htm. Interns committed to providing effective outcome-oriented program instruction curriculum to adults with intellectual or related developmental disabilities through research and real life experiences. Arc LIFE's goal is to enhance academic, social or life skills so that students can increase or maintain their levels of independence. Instruction is provided in both classroom and community settings. Curriculum will be reviewed and researched and tested along with helping create and publish a Fall 2008 Schedule. Night and evenings work will be available as well, with more hands on experience being provided during those timeframes. We are seeking interns who provide a positive environment, understand a range of abilities and behaviors, are flexible, responsible, have a heart for working with adults who have intellectual disabilities and can deliver services in a professional manner. Other responsibilities include: completion of paperwork, maintaining a professional appearance and environment attending required meetings and training (including CPR/First Aid), reviewing and implementing program instruction including budget analysis, review of existing programs and other duties as assigned.
