Urban Team
The
purpose of the Inner City Missions Program and its Urban Team is to introduce
Dallas Christian College students and visiting participants to mission work
through meeting the spiritual, physical, and social needs of the people
of the city, and through service to established inner city missions.
Our goal is to train up leaders for the cause of urban evangelism who
are well-rounded servants. Young people and adults alike, who visit the
campus as volunteers should be made aware of the importance of urban ministry.
The role of an Urban Team member requires dedication, responsibility,
a willingness to be stretched constantly , and to make personal sacrifice.
Each member will not only be asked to teach the people of the city, but
learn from them as well. The member will be asked to be an administrator,
a planner, a coordinator, and a minister, but most of all, a follower
of the ultimate servant, Jesus Christ. Team members must realize that
God has given them unlimited potential for service and the ability to
change the world through Christ.
