Advising and Portal Registration for TRAD Students

"DCC Portal Registration is scheduled for next week. You must meet with your advisor PRIOR to DCC Portal Registration. I encourage you to go through the "Self Advising" process first. Information on how to do this is still available at http://courses.dallas.edu/online_help/selfadvising.doc. It is designed to help you navigate the Student Portal to determine course needs and course offerings for the upcoming spring/Maymester/summer registration. In addition to this, you should consult the college catalog for information on your degree plan and course pre-requisites. It may be accessed at http://www.dallas.edu/Academics/Catalog.cfm. Keep in mind, if you are a new transfer student to DCC, and you haven't earned 12 hours with DCC yet, your transfer credit has not yet been entered into the Student Portal. In that case, you will also need your Transcript Evaluation to compare with the degree plan for self advising. Once you've reviewed these documents, take your course preferences for spring, Maymester, and/or summer to your meeting with your advisor. They'll be happy to answer any questions you have as well! After this step has been taken, you're ready to register through the DCC Student Portal. The Portal will be open to Juniors and Seniors November 5th and 6th. All other students may register November 7th-9th. PLEASE NOTE, classes are limited! Once the classes are full, they will be closed! Early registration is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!"
