Concert Choir Tour Announced
February 18, 2008 - The Dallas Christian College Worship
Arts Department announces its 2008 Spring Tour Program, "The Tomb Stands
Open Wide!" featuring the Concert Choir and Mixed Ensembles. This year’s
tour will take place March 7th – 15th and will include visits to churches
in Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, and Arizona.
The Concert Choir is a 35 member mixed chorus which has toured widely
in the United States, performing in California, Colorado, Illinois, New
York, Alabama, and Florida. In addition, the Choir has sung with the Southern
Methodist University Meadows Chorale at the Meyerson Symphony Center in
Dallas, Texas, and will join forces this April with the First United Methodist
Church of Coppell, the Coppell High School Madrigals, and the Coppell
Community Chorale for a performance of Ralph Vaughan-Williams’ Dona
Nobis Pacem.
This year’s tour program will include a variety of gospel and contemporary
Christian classics, including On Jordan’s Stormy Banks; Swing Low,
Sweet Chariot; Go and Tell John; Precious Lord, Take My Hand; The Tomb
Stands Open Wide! and Joseph Martin’s The Canticle of Hope. The
DCC Concert Choir is under the direction of Mr. Scott Spies and is accompanied
by Mrs. Bonnie Graem.
