Dallas Christian College Announces Transition of President Dusty Rubeck

College Trustees Launch Search for New Leader Following Rubeck’s Acceptance of Church Development Fund Presidency

DALLAS, Texas, Dec. 12, 2013 Dallas Christian College (DCC) today announced the resignation of current President Dusty Rubeck, who has accepted the position of President and CEO of Church Development Fund (CDF) in Irvine, California. Rubeck has served as the College’s longest-standing President, and will remain at DCC through the spring 2014 semester, serving dually at both the College and CDF until May.

“As I look back on 10 years together, it is clear that DCC has given me far more than I could ever repay,” said Rubeck. “The DCC family has stretched me and loved me. I am a better leader and man because of my time at the College. As a graduate of DCC and now the departing President, I am committed to being an ambassador of DCC for the rest of my days.”

The DCC Board of Trustees is embarking on a search to fulfill this critical role. The appointment of a search committee will be announced as early as next week.

“We are so grateful for Dusty Rubeck’s leadership over the last 10 years, and for the great unity he has fostered among the board, faculty, staff and students,” said DCC Board Chair Paul Diaz. “It was also his intensive focus on our mission that developed DCC into a mentoring college. This has transformed our student body and the DCC experience. Finally, his leadership was instrumental in strengthening our board and the entire DCC community. We appreciate all of his contributions and are glad to know he will remain a champion of DCC.”

During Rubeck’s 10-year tenure at DCC, he successfully transformed the corporate culture, led the team through the launch of an intensive four-year mentoring program for every student, and provided guidance through the expansion of innovative uses of educational technology. He also completed a major renovation of the campus and grounds as well as a $5 million comprehensive capital campaign.

As DCC approaches this new era in its history, the Board will seek a leader to step into the role of President who can build upon this continued strong foundation.
