How to Qualify for Federal Student Aid
To qualify for any of the federal programs, the student must
demonstrate financial need by completing the Free Application for Federal
Student Aid (FAFSA). Students should know this process can be lengthy
because each step must be completed before moving on to the next. All
new and returning students must establish financial need annually in order
to receive financial aid.
FAFSA (Free Application for Student Federal Aid)
All financial aid students are required to complete a FASFA annually.

The student must be accepted to DCC and enrolled as a regular student in an eligible degree or diploma program. The student is also expected to make satisfactory academic progress toward completion of the program of study and to comply with other requirements of the federal program. The amount of aid cannot exceed the cost of education.

Satisfactory Academic Progress Required for Financial Aid
Federal and state governments require educational institutions
to define standards of progress for students seeking financial aid. All
students who wish to qualify for financial aid while attending DCC must
meet such standards. For a complete copy of the Academic Progress Standard,
please see the DCC Catalog or the
Financial Aid Handbook, page 15.
