Women's Soccer Team Loses to SAGUAugust 28, 2006 The Lady Crusader’s soccer team lost a hard
fought game to Southwestern Assemblies of God University on Monday. With
temperatures nearly reaching triple digits the team united together and
put forth a great showing for the first game of the inaugural season.
Freshman, Abby Johnson registered the first ever assist for the women’s program as she was taken out by the goal keeper inside the box. Subsequently, this set up a penalty kick for freshman Ashley Mabry, who scored the first ever goal for the program. The team went on to lose the game 1-5, but the improvement they showed
from their last scrimmage was remarkable. Congratulations to the ladies
on a hard fought game. |
