Team Finishes Third at ACCA Nationals

Dallas, TX - January 19, 2008 - The 2007 Crusader Soccer Team finished the season winning the 3rd place game at the ACCA National Tournament. Along with their 3rd place finish the Crusaders racked up a number of trophies to show the continued success of the program. The team was crowned as the Interstate Collegiate Conference Champions and finished 2nd in the Southwest Regional Tournament.

Damion Simmons, Michael Santos, Doby Davis, Tyler Stowe, Tyler Singleton, and Dalon Parker were named to the All-Region Team. Damion Simmons, Michael Santos, Doby Davis, and Evan Rodgers were named to the All-Conference Team. Michael Santos-MVP, Doby Davis, Josh Watkins, Dalon Parker, and Matt Wagner were named to the All-Tournament Team. Michael Santos, Doby Davis, and Josh Watkins were named to the ACCA All-Tournament Team.

When asked to reflect upon this season Coach Duke stated, “This season was full of challenges and accomplishments, but the team worked extremely hard to pull together and fill some holes that were left from last year. I’m very proud of this group and praise God for all that He taught us about ourselves through this game.”
